The Saint Joan Press was founded in 2005 as a traditional Catholic publishing house producing high quality hardback books at affordable prices. The Press is situated in the heart of rural England some fifty miles south of London in the historic town of Midhurst.

Across the river lies the ruins of Cowdray Castle, once known as "Little Rome". The Roman Catholic martyr Blessed Margaret Pole was held prisoner at Cowdray during 1538-9. Her son Reginal Cardinal Pole, was England's last Catholic Cardinal until the restoration of the hierarchy some three hundred years later.
